Many people don’t actually love themselves. If they did, they wouldn’t be so hard on themselves, say self deprecating things or engage in unhealthy behaviors. Many of use grew up with a deficit of “I love yous” in our lives. Maybe our parents didn’t tell us often, or stopped telling us after childhood. We need to rebuild a new foundation – one where we look in the mirror and say – Hey Gorgeous! You’re amazing! I love you.
When you use this practice, you reprogram your mind. It may feel uncomfortable and awkward at first because it’s so unfamiliar. You may feel resistant to it and want to turn it off. But I can promise you that if you listen to it everyday, it will change your values, your opinions and your tolerance for negativity. You’ll be committed to yourself in a new way and make choices that support your highest and best good.
